Meet the Lexus RZ! Despite Lexus being one of the leading brands in hybrid vehicle technology, the RZ is the first purpose-built electric car Lexus has released! So with that in mind, is it any good? Well let’s start with a look at the design, and it’s fair to say the RZ more than looks the part! Starting at the back, you’ll find a full-length light bar, some neat little spoilers and big Lexus badging. There may be some fake vents too, but we can forgive them for now. The RZ has a good side profile, with smart creases along the doors, while up front the RZ still keeps the traditional Lexus design, although in this instance there’s no grille. But while the exterior design looks good, the interior looks even better! The cabin is built with soft-touch materials throughout, and there’s a huge infotainment screen at the centre of the dash that is really intuitive and well-designed. Thankfully it also has separate climate control buttons, so they are easy to manage when driving. The seats are also well-made and available in either fake suede or leather. When it comes to motors and battery combinations, there’s only one available - two electric motors and a 71kWh battery pack that combine to produce 313hp. It also comes with a claimed range of 272 miles. So it all sounds pretty impressive! But is it really worth the £64,500 starting price?! Stick with Mat and see for yourself! Meet the most luxurious, hi-tech cars BMW has ever released - the new BMW 7 Series & BMW i7! Mat’s flown over to America to get his hands on these two luxurious limos to give them a full-blown, proper in-depth review! Let’s start with a look at the design. One thing’s for sure, from the back and the side, there’s no hiding that this is clearly a 7 Series. Sure there have been a few design upgrades over the previous generation, but the side and rear profile are quite clearly in the traditional 7 Series mold. But of course, it’s up top where things get interesting, with an absolutely massive double kidney grille that dominates the front end. Combine this with the split headlight design on either side, and you've got yourself one car that will definitely turn heads! Once you step inside, you are treated to a cabin absolutely full of high-quality materials, including leather & carbon on the dash, soft-touch felt on the roof, and super comfortable cashmere seats. You’ll also find the same swooping infotainment screen as in the new iX. But of course, the main feature of this interior is the huge 31-inch 8K cinema screen in the back! This thing is absolutely insane, and when you combine it with the ability to fully recline the seats in the back, there’s no denying that this is pretty much the best bit of technology we’ve got our hands on in any car… EVER! When it comes to performance, the range-topping BMW i7 60 comes with two electric motors to deliver 544hp and 745Nm of torque. It comes with a 102kWh battery pack that’s good for a claimed range of 388 miles. As for the BMW 7 Series, it comes with a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 that delivers an almost identical 544hp and 750Nm. As for the price, the 7 Series starts at £102,000, while the i7 starts at £108,000. But are they both worth it? You’ll need to stick with Mat to see for yourself! The time has come for Mat to say goodbye to the Audi TT RS! He’s got his hands on the new Audi TT RS Iconic Edition - a limited-edition TT which is the last one Audi will ever produce! The question is, does this last-ever TT RS do its predecessors justice?! Well when it comes to the design, there are a few notable changes. Starting around the back the Iconic Edition comes equipped with a huge carbon fibre spoiler which is mounted to the car with a swan neck design. The rear diffuser has also become more pronounced and has had carbon added to it. Around the side, there are extended side skirts, and at the front, there’s an extended splitter, more additional carbon, and matrix LED headlights now come as standard. So there are a couple of notable additions to the outside, but it’s a different story on the inside! The TT RS Iconic Edition comes with the RS styling pack, although whereas this would normally lead to the inclusion of red stitching throughout the car, in this instance it’s coloured yellow… And that’s it! Otherwise, the interior is just the same as a regular TT RS. Unfortunately, there aren’t any changes to be found under the bonnet either! Lift up the hood and you’ll find the same 2.5-litre 5-cylinder turbo as in a regular TT RS, with the power output also remaining the same, at 400hp and 480Nm. In terms of the chassis, it has been lowered slightly and comes equipped with stiffer suspension, but otherwise, the car pretty much matches the regular edition. So there are a few changes, but nothing huge. So that begs the question - is it really worth the eye-watering £87,650 price tag?! And keep in mind, that’s £27,000 more than a regular TT RS! You’ll need to stick with Mat and see for yourself! This is the all-new Honda Civic! The previous edition of the Civic was one of the most popular & recognisable family cars on the road. The question is, does the all-new edition offer enough to sway you away from a different family hatchback? Well, let’s see what’s on offer. In terms of the design, it’s markedly different to the previous model, with a swooping tailgate around the rear through to an updated front with LED headlights and a new grille. On the inside, you’ll be treated to a simple but well-laid-out dash. There are good quality materials throughout most of the cabin, along with physical dials to make it easy to manage climate controls. The infotainment has also been updated, although it’s pretty middle of the road. Thankfully though, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come as standard! Considering it’s a family hatchback, it’s still not the cheapest. The entry-level edition starts at just under £30,000! But does it offer enough for you to still choose it over the competition? Mat’s finally got his hands on the Lotus Eletre! The Eletre is the first Lotus SUV ever created, and Mat’s about to find out if this all-electric Lotus has what it takes to compete with EV competitors like the Tesla Model X Plaid! For starters, let’s check out the looks. From the front end, there’s a sloping bonnet and a whole host of vents, and if anything it reminds us a bit of the Lamborghini Urus! However, unlike the Urus, every vent you can see on this car serves a purpose - there’s no fakery here! Moving down the side you’ll note there are black surrounds around the windows and on the side mirrors, and around the back, there’s a pair of small spoilers, a bootlip spoiler and a few more vents to help improve efficiency. Step inside and the good looks continue! The interior has a sporty feel to it, with high-quality materials found throughout the cabin. There are a number of physical switches which feel pretty sturdy, and even the smallest areas or buttons are made to feel expensive. What’s more, there’s a choice of three screens - a small digital dial display for the driver, a huge infotainment screen, and then a small screen for the passenger to use. The quality continues through to the back seats, too, where there’s the option to add two sports seats similar to what you’ll find in the front! These can also be electrically operated. There will be two versions of the Eletre on sale, and both come with dual motors and a 112kWh battery. The entry-level Eletre & Eletre S can produce 603hp, while the range-topping Eletre R can produce 905hp! What’s more, the R should be able to hit 60mph in under 3 seconds! When it comes to price, the Eletre starts from £89,500, rising up to £120,000 for the R edition. But is it worth it? And should you choose it over the likes of a Tesla Model X Plaid? Mat has travelled over to China to attend the Shanghai Motor Show, and he’s about to present to you his A-Z list of the best cars due out over the next few years! There are a whole host of different cars here, of all different shapes and sizes. For example, he’ll take a close look at the BYD Seagull - a small all-electric hatchback that will cost from just £10,000! What’s more, the range-topper will still have a claimed range of 252 miles. There are, of course, a host of other Chinese cars on show here, including the all-electric Hiphi Y and Hiphi X (no prizes for guessing where the inspiration for the names came from). But it wasn’t just Chinese brands on show. There were all-new cars from global, world-renowned brands here. BMW unveiled the i7 M70, the 660hp edition of the all-electric 7 Series. The all-new Polestar 4 was also unveiled, as well as the new Volkswagen ID.7 saloon. For starters, it looks great from the outside! Top-of-the-range models get a smart light bar around the back and a cool roof spoiler. What’s more, they also come with a black roof and blacked-out rear windows. There’s also a super cool front splitter up top, along with some smart daytime running lights. One thing’s for sure, this car looks much more expensive than it actually is! The good news is, the good looks continue on the inside. There are two large separate infotainment and dial screens, and a smart two-spoke steering wheel. You’ll also find good-quality materials throughout the majority of the cabin. The infotainment system is ok, but it does also come with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay as standard. There are two choices of batteries, with the range-topper being 61kWh. This then comes with a range of up to 281 miles, along with a 203hp motor. This car, and the entry-level, are both rear-wheel drive. So what's the price? Well, it starts from just over £26,000!
