When Durafly released the original Auto-G it raised the bar by being the first Plug-N-Fly autogyro on the market, that bar has been raised even higher with the Auto-G2 V2. The H-King TTX is an excellent, scale rendition of the original. It is made of tough EPO foam and is beautifully crafted with panel lines and scale cockpit and other details. The Avios MiG-17 Fresco is a large 90mm EDF jet made of strong EPO foam with quality scale plastic details and a cockpit with a scale interior. It comes in an eye-catching arctic camouflage scheme that gives a huge presence in the air. This model is different from the rest and is a classic interceptor from the Vietnam War period. Get the Avios MiG-17 Fresco Jet Fighter 90mm EDF 1200mm (47.3") PNF: 🤍 The Russian Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-17 (NATO reporting name "Fresco") entered service in 1952. It was a further development of the successful MiG-15 jet fighter from the Korean War era. It had large improvements made including a new, thinner, and more swept wing and tailplane which allowed the aircraft to reach high subsonic speeds close to Mach 1 (the speed of sound) in level flight. The MiG-17 was used during the Vietnam War to intercept bombers and fighter bombers rather than straight dogfighting with other fighters. The tactics used were effective against the slower, heavily loaded fighter bombers as they were maneuverable against these types of aircraft. The MiG-17 was replaced by the Mig-21 during the Vietnam War. The Avios MIG-17 Fresco captures the looks, style, and rakish lines of the full-size jet beautifully. The color scheme Avios has used is similar to the civilian MIG-17s flown in the United States by the "Black Diamond" Display Team and they paint their aircraft in arctic camouflage. The MIG-17 is made of tough, high compression EPO and is supplied ready painted but you are required to apply the decals yourself. The MIG-17 boasts many features, it has a pre-installed 90mm 12 bladed fan unit with 3541/1550KV brushless outrunner motor, 100A ESC with 5A UBEC, 12 pre-installed metal geared digital servos, aluminum retract system, split flaps, air brakes, and LED lighting. All you need to supply is a battery and a 2.4GHz radio system. The Avios MIG-17 Fresco is the same quality that you have come to expect from the Avios brand and is also very straightforward to build due to the low parts count. For a large aircraft, it can also be easily transported as the wings can easily be removed due to the quick wing connectors. You will enjoy flying the Mig-17 as it has plenty of thrust for some exciting aerobatics and dogfighting. To ensure you come back to earth with ease it is fitted with split flaps and speed brakes for an easy landing. Just how loud is the HobbyKing Pulsejet engine? I decided to find out so I placed the HK sound meter about 5 meters from the engine and started it up. As you can see by the results these engines are plenty loud!
For this edition of Tips Bench Tuesday, Stuart goes over tips on launching, landing, and touch and go for the H-King Paramotor The HobbyKing Paramotor is extremely easy to fly due to its very gentle and stable flight characteristics yet once you are used to it, it will perform loops and rolls with ease. Due to the design, the huge high-performance 2400mm sail opens quickly for easy launching and it will retain its shape even in turbulence. The single-skin durable sail is made from 100% ripstop fabric and comes pre-rigged with tough polyethylene lines and is ready to attach to the durable aluminum gondola. It does require a computer radio with mixing and servo control curves, to see what is involved in the radio set up please watch the attached video and also the one for the setting up of the parafoil itself. Get the H-King High-Performance Paramotor PNF: 🤍 There is a high level of prefabrication so assembly time is minimal and it is Plug-N-Fly so all you require is your own transmitter, receiver, and battery. The Paramotor is fitted with a powerful 3530-1400KV brushless motor swinging a 10 x 4.7 propeller, it also has a 50 amp electronic speed controller with 5 amp BEC and 2 powerful 15kg high torque metal geared servos. A 3S lipo battery is recommended and it can vary in capacity to suit different flying conditions. The recommended flying weight is 1.6~2.0kg, in light of wind conditions it is best to put a lighter battery in to keep near the 1.6kg weight. In windy conditions, it is better to put a heavier battery in to fly around the 2kg mark. The undercarriage is easily removed for hand launching and catching and also for slope soaring. This HobbyKing Swiss J3 Cub is a model that came into the shop recently for review. Cubs are always fun and this model certainly holds up to that! This in updated version of their previous Cub that includes most notably all metal landing gear which have shown to be quite robust. The model can be flown on 3s or 4s and I found 3s to provide nice scale power for the model. 4s turns it into a beast which we aptly nicknamed the J3 Hyper Cub. I told you this was going to be a BASHER! This is the 🤍 maiden flight of the HobbyKing MX2 EPP 3D Plane. I raided my stash for parts to get this plane in the air and it didn't work out well. Basically, the entire power system gave me problems including the batteries, ESC, and motor. So I have new parts on order and will get them installed as soon as possible. What I did learn during the maiden is that this plane is FUN! It is very light, durable, and has good control authority. Even with the strong winds I had during the flight, the plane was controllable. Fortunately for you, the value of EPP as a plane material is demonstrated at least 4 times in this video.
