Get your Widgeon here ► 🤍 The Flite Test Widgeon came into reality because of our love for it’s beautiful lines, amazing history, and incredible versatility. We designed this aircraft to compliment almost any pilot’s hangar both in flight characteristics and its wide range of use. With the FT Widgeon, you will have the benefits of being able to take off the ground, water, or snow using the removable landing gear or flying off the reinforced plastic hull. The large open fuselage leaves plenty of room for FPV gear, advanced electronics, or a wide range of batteries making it a fantastic choice to be flown as an FPV platform. The FT Widgeon also assembles with no glue or tape. The whole aircraft assembles with the use of magnets and locking pins. Keeping with the vision around our full PNP line, we made sure to make all the electronics accessible for both modification and servicing. Flying the FT Widgeon will be a rewarding experience for both the intermediate and advanced pilots. The twin motors provide great thrust with no torque or pitching issues. The newer pilot will love this as a first experience for flying off the water with the use of the large water rudder and reinforced hull. This allows for smooth transition off the water and the ability to easily taxi back to shore. Once in the air, the FT Widgeon is gentle and predictable. The advanced pilot will love the ability to use differential thrust to make this classic design do crazy aerobatics like flat spins and pinwheels. Combine this aircraft with the FT Aura 5 and experience stabilized flight along with amazing features like launch assist and level assist for our beginner and FPV pilots. Our desire is that the FT Widgeon will be an amazing addition to your hangar and an aircraft that will always grow with you in your RC Journey. 🤍 It doesn't get much better than this. And remember, Rod Kellogg was HIRED to fly this amazing cross-country adventure... Talk about a seriously cool job. I was lucky to fly along with him! We flew in a 1943 built Grumman G44 Widgeon, which was produced for the US Navy. Over 4 days, we flew from Pensacola, Florida, to Victoria, Canada (British Columbia). Taking VFR passes through the Canadian Rockies to the West of Calgary made this trip that much more awesome. Thanks to Julian MacQueen, the owner, for allowing us to film such a great experience! Tommy Tucker's Grumman Widgeon amphibian airplane is sometimes called a flying boat; however, whatever you call it, an aircraft that can land on water or a runway is the best way to see Alaska or travel to the bush.

1947 widgeon flying an rc widgeon
A Grumman G-44 Widgeon taxis and takes off in Southern California, USA. The G-44 (not "like a G6", like a G44 ;) ) seen in this video is bright yellow and is reminiscent of intriguing planes which were designed and built in the 1940s and 1950s. In total, 317 Widgeons were built for various organizations, both public and private. The US military (United States Navy, Army Air Forces, and Coast Guard) was the primary user of the Grumman G-44 and used it as a multi-role aircraft. The G-44 was also built in La Rochelle, France and designated SCAN-30. 41 G-44s were built there. One of the most interesting features of this plane is its ability to land and takeoff on water. It's wheels and landing gear retract into a special position on the side of the plane and not inside of it. Enjoy this video, this Grumman G-44 is not an everyday sight!

Grumman G-44 Widgeon Amphibious flying boat
Hi Everyone Here is the maiden flight of the G-44 Widgeon. The model flies fantastic, this flight I was just cruising and having fun taxiing. The power system is as follows: Two E-flite 25 amp ESC's, Two E-flite 480 1020 KV motors, 4 Hi-Tec HS-82MG Servos and a 2650 40C Zippy Battery . She looks great in the water and the 3 bladed props look cool. Thanks for viewing and happy flying from TMRC.

During a private, invite-only party hosted by a good friend of mine, many other pilots flew in their privately-owned and restored warbirds to the Flying W Airport; this Widgeon is owned by the party host and is seen firing up and heading back to its home base near the Jersey Shore. First flights on my new FliteTest Widgeon. I am using a FT Aura5 and Spektrum remote for the receiver. I have it configured for differential throttles . I have some tuning to do on the elevator travel. I reduced that mechanically at the field as I didn't have my laptop with me. Tried all three flight modes and will do some tuning on them. Stall not bad and plane will slow down. It wants to tip in the grass due to small wheels. And they tend to come loose on any bouncy landing! Not a bad flyer and looking forward to more flights. The video was created from 4 different flights.

Redbull Grumman G-44 Widgeon flyby and landig at Torp airshow 1993. The landig is bumpy but with a funny end where the pilot brakes hard to let the airplane take a bow for the audience!
Recently I went on a real world flight from the Phoenix to Lake Havasu, Arizona where I learned a little bit on how to fly a multi engine seaplane. The aircraft is a Grumman G44 Widgeon produced in the early 1940's to mid 1950's and used during 'World War II as a small patrol and utility machine by the US Navy, US Coast Guard, and Royal Navy's Fleet Air Arm.' Enjoy!
В нашей жизни и в хобби иногда не оправдываются надежды. Так бывает и довольно часто. Мою историю с гидросамолётом Grumman G-44 Widgeon это стороной не обошло. Finally got the FT Widgeon and this it the Maiden with a mishap on the first takeoff and the subsequent adjustments/flights. This ended up as a successful maiden but I did have glue some small parts on later in the day. Not that that is done I can pull the gear and move to the WATER!! Link to the model: 🤍
